You guys know about the phone call cards on which you buy in a store scratch off the back for a special code to call the world for cheaper? Well last night, in a overpopulated car, mostly with men I learned that such a things exists for porn too. It's card on which you can have a limited amount of watching time and a code that unlocked video's on a certain website. Maybe this is common knowlegde but I didn't know about there existence!
So as I was saying, I was in a car with a lot of testosterone in it, and at one point they started talking about porn. Oh the fool I am got excited for I was about to hear real young adults talking about it. So i told them about this project, my biggest mistake!! Hehe, they stopped talking almost instantly right when I was about to "enter the male psyche". I should've not said that I was listening and studying what they would say!!
So my research continues on the internet.
The biggest concern about girls in a relationship with a man that watches porn is that the male might expect more from his lover after seeing them on the screen. We all dread the "Why don't you do this or that".
But girls, we just might do it too.
Did you never watch a movie and sigh at the main character for his perfection, wishing you man was just as loving, creative and simply a perfect gentlemen. We can be infatuated with a chick flick mr.right.
Even biologically, men and women want different things.
For guys, their bodies are made to want as much offspring as possible. This may not show in our society but that's what our basic instinct thrives to do. We are made to procreate and men's goal is to plant their seed as much as possible.
For girls, we are made to chose a patient, caring and healthy mate. We need our offspring to be strong and we need someone to help us take care of the baby and us. We need someone to feed us, and protect us and such. Again, this is our primal instinct.
This just goes to show how different our needs are and may explain our approach to sexuality.

Here are some numbers.
What's a project without sats?
Here they are, this site is pretty interesting:
http://www.internet-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/internet-pornography-statistics.html
The numbers are high but somehow not surprising. This just goes to show how large and eager the clientele is!

Desensitized?
It is clear that our society is desensitized to sex. But to what degree? When does it become unhealthy.
We can't deny the effects of porn on today's young people. Sexually, we are way more demanding then our grand-dad...who at our age blushed when he came across a wonderbra ad.
Does it directly interfere with our relationships and interactions with other humans?
A lot of girls feel threatned by porn. They feel like they need to live up to it. Some even view it as adulterous.
Men tend to defend themselves by saying that porn is only a tool. Men need visual support to..erhm...do what they got to do. It's simply easier than using there imagination, there is no emotional attachment involve.
Experts tend to agree with women, they say that "men who frequently view porn may develop unrealistic expectations of women's appearance and behavior, have difficulty forming and sustaining relationships and feeling sexually satisfied."
http://www.time.com/time/2004/sex/article/the_porn_factor_in_the_01a.html
So is it really fair to say that its an innocent way to have some fun?
It is hard to say, as each user is different. There is definatly different degree of consumption with different reasons and situations so it is hard to judge what's healthy and moral.
I think that the most important thing is to fight that instinctive part of the brain that relates images to reality and understand that porn is closer to fantasy then reality. Understand that girls in porn, are actresses.
I found this priceless article on this very conservatice site:
http://www.reuniting.info/science/is_there_a_problem_with_porn
It teaches young men the dangers of porn.
Here's a quote of the last few lines it pretty much shows the drift of it :
"Your old brain is just doing its biological job. It has mistaken porn sex for real sex, but you don't have to make the same error. Use your new brain to figure it out. If you have a chance to view porn, consider some of these responses:
“I think I'll skip the porn
because I want to learn about real girls and close relationships.”
because I want to be full of energy, not moody, depressed or anti-social.”
because I know that porn can make sexual frustration worse.”
because I want to get a life.” "
And if you haven't still read it go read it now!

Zack and Miri make a porno
I love Seth Rogen's humor and I had doubts he would ever disappoint me.
Oh well, maybe he didn't...but the movie surely did.
I went to see it with a couple of friends, just guys actually...so we went to see Zack and Miri make a porno. Now now, don't get me wrong, I was actually looking forward to see and laugh a little.
But, no.
The movie is way too explicit to cover up the lack of FUNNY. It's a common Hollywood pratice, if it's not making people laugh put some boobs in it....and if it still isn't all that great push the sexuality even further.
The beginning of the movie actually looks promising...but don't be fooled, the only good thing about this movie is Justin Long.
Oh and I could've briefly summarized the idea of the story like a good critic...but hey, the story exactly what you think it is.
Go see Sex Drive instead :)
and for the record, my guy friends didn't like it either, so it's not just me lol.
We did pay 5$ to see boobs going up and down...so at least they got something out of it!!

Intro
Welcome to my blog!
For my first post, I will simply explain to you the purpose, the subject and fonctionning of this project of mine.
Throughout the following weeks I will be posting in blog form, a compilation of information, analysis thoughts, articles, statistics on everything related to PORN.
I would appreciate if everyone could put their 2 cents in and comment on the blogs. You can participate in discussions, posts articles, give your own analysis and perspective on thing (try not to out do me though hehehee!!)
The reason I chose this subject is simple. I hate porn. I'm telling you this now because I want to make my future post as unbiased and objective as possible.
Although I have this aversion to it, the psychology behind is very interesting to me and I'm hoping to find a better..maybe even deeper meaning to it.
It's a relatively taboo subject, so I'm also hoping to get everyone's input on it.
Already, I have found so many aspects to cover..I don't know where to start! Wish me luck haha!
So that's sums it up well...
I'll keep updating so keep on reading!!
